Summary
An open letter of thanks. TransLucent expresses profound gratitude to the 75,000 cisgender women of the "Not In Our Name" (NION) movement for publicly rejecting transphobia and the use of women's sex based rights as a tool for exclusion - a vital turning point that counters hostile media narratives
75000 Women Are Supporting Trans Inclusion
Dear Not in Our Name (NION) Women,
At TransLucent, our mission is simple and unwavering: to campaign for the visibility, acceptance, and legal recognition of transgender and gender‑diverse people in the UK.
Every day, we try to counter misinformation, challenge hostile media narratives, and defend the human rights of trans people. In a climate saturated with culture‑war headlines, this work can be exhausting – but today, because of you, we feel hope.
Since May 2025, your movement has grown into a chorus of 75,000 cisgender women who have stood up to say, clearly and courageously, “No.” No to transphobia. No to gender‑critical ideology. No to the misuse of women’s so-called “sex-based rights” as a tool for exclusion.
For too long, a loud and well‑funded minority has dominated the British press and political landscape, claiming to speak for all women while promoting a narrow, exclusionary definition of womanhood. They have relied on the false idea that progress for trans people’s human rights somehow threatens the safety or status of cisgender women.
Your voices have cut through that narrative.
By signing the “Not In Our Name” declaration, you have shown that most women reject division – that, quite simply, you accept that trans women seek to live in womanhood and trans men manhood. You know we are not a threat.
You have affirmed that fundamental safety and women’s liberation do not come from policing who belongs in public spaces like toilets and changing rooms, but from dismantling the patriarchal systems that harm us all.
Indeed, our investigations in the past have proven the narrative that there is no evidence of complaints about trans women using public womens toilets, changing rooms or womens hospital wards (check notes – yes, we have the FOI data to prove it).
“We reject – completely and categorically – the active discrimination and exclusion of trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse people. Those who continue to target this minority group do not speak for us or represent our interests. They never have. They never will.”
Your message is more than solidarity; it is a necessary correction to the public record. You have told the media and politicians that when they exclude trans people “on behalf of women,” they are not acting in your name – they are advancing a specific ideological agenda. Your coalition reflects the true diversity of womanhood. You have recognised that the real threats facing women (domestic abuse, workplace discrimination, health inequality, and male violence) do not come from trans women but from men.
75000 Women Are Supporting Trans Inclusion – Your Solidarity Marks a Turning Point.
It signals the possibility of moving beyond toxic culture‑war politics toward a politics rooted in care, truth, and shared liberation.
At TransLucent, we will continue our work with renewed strength, knowing that the women of “Not In Our Name” stand beside us. We will keep challenging discriminatory legislation and intervening in legal cases to protect trans people’s rights – but now we do so with the reassurance that tens of thousands of women have publicly rejected the attempts to divide us.
To those who have signed: every signature is an act of protection, a statement of courage, and a reminder that compassion is far more widespread than hostility. To those yet to join the NION collective: we invite you to add your voice to this growing movement at

We stand together not because we are biologically identical, but because our futures are connected – that we refuse to be divided.
To everyone who signed that open letter: a huge thank you.
With deepest gratitude and solidarity,
The TransLucent team.
