I am passionate about fairness, equality and the need to rid ourselves of discrimination in our society.
While I appreciate we live in a capitalist society and by the very nature of the society we live in there will always be some people “better off” than some others…decency costs nothing.
How great therefore to see Prince Harry & Meghan call out out equality.
Meghan is vice president of the Queens Commonwealth Trust, and on Monday she and Harry dialled into there weekly video call, which was responding to the Black Lives Matter movement.
While rightly concentrating on the BLM issue, Meghan said this: “Equality does not put anyone on the back foot, it puts us all on the same footing – which is a fundamental human right.”
And of course, that is what trans folk seek as well – we don’t ask for anything other than be equal.
Sadly the TERF’s have other views.
They wish to use the cis privilege card to justify discrimination against trans folk and trans women in particular.
It is all so very wrong!
Discrimination stinks!
So for the record, I am going to re-quote what Meghan said and hope and pray just one TERF (or better still Liz Truss) is listening.
“Equality does not put anyone on the back foot; it puts us all on the same footing – which is a fundamental human right.”
And a message for Prince Harry – your mum would be proud of you.
