Katie Neeves accepted as a UN Women UK delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women
TransLucent.org.uk is thrilled to announce that Katie Neeves will be taking part in the upcoming 68th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68). This prestigious event, taking place at the United Nations headquarters in New York, brings together world leaders, activists, and organizations committed to gender equality and women’s rights.
I was delighted to be selected as an official delegate for such a prestigious international event. I may be a transgender woman, but I am still a women and I am affected by the same misogyny that all women face, as well as having to deal with all hate and misinformation that is currently being spread about trans people. I hope my presence at the conference will help to give a voice in some small way to transgender women who are one of the most marginalised sections of society. I want to help all women to thrive.
