Kemi Badenoch, Prejudice and Conservative Lies.
Kemi Badenoch stated when recently giving evidence to the Women’s and Equalities Select Committee that predators are exploiting trans rights and accessing single-sex spaces. She said:
“Predators have started exploiting the loopholes. It is the behaviour of people who are choosing to exploit rights given to transgender people, because the definition is very loose, that we are now having to look at what we can do in order to protect women and children who are the most vulnerable in those single-sex spaces. “I have to be clear that I’m not saying that transgender people are predators, but there are more people who are predators than there are people who are trans.
Of course, there are likely to be more predators than trans people – but that does not mean all predators are using trans identities or accessing single-sex spaces – the whole suggestion is preposterous.
And more to the point, there is no data to back up her statement.
Of course, we know two widely published cases, that of Isla Bryson and Karen White, who decided to transition after committing sexual offences. Was that an attempt to get a lighter sentence, get closer to women or trans women while serving their sentence, or are they genuinely now trans?
Well, we dont know.
But one thing is for sure – they were not trans when they committed their offences, nor did they use trans identities when committing those offences.
The fact is that the public needs protection from male Tory MPs, not trans women. Incredibly (as of December 2023), there were just 262 of them – yet over the past three years, over 2% of them have been found guilty of an offence or been forced to give up their seat.
2022: Imran Ahmad Khan sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy and was jailed.
2020: Charlie Elphick sexually assaulted two women and was jailed.
2022: Neil Parish was looking at porn while in HoC Chamber.
2023: Bob Stewart was found guilty of racist comments but still sits as an MP.
2021: Andrew Griffiths raped his wife and subjected her to coercive control.
2023: Peter Bone was accused of bullying and producing false invoices to claim expenses – he has now lost his seat following a recall petition.
Were any wearing a dress?
But back to single-sex spaces.
There is significant data published on this website that has proven there are no issues in NHS hospital wards, that all but six trans women prisoners in England and Wales are held in the male estate, and that there are no issues in domestic abuse shelters.
For toilets and changing rooms, the same applies; there is no data to back up the gender-critical allegations – just hearsay and lots, and lots, and lots and lots of noise ….and Badenoch is happy to repeat it.
Tell lies often enough, and people begin to believe it – remember the “oven-ready deal” during Brexit?
Precisely.
The Guardian also reported this:
“During the hearing, Ms Badenoch also suggested TikTok influencers and peer pressure were fuelling demand for gender services. She said Government plans would “hopefully clear the pipeline” so only those who are deemed to need care get it “rather than everybody who is being led, whether by TikTok, peer pressure or very, very bad advice from people who should know better“.
Badenoch also suggested (note: apparently, her mates from LGB Alliance and Sex Matters were in the room) that gay kids were being “transed”.
Any evidence that kids are being “transed”?
My colleague Claire at TransLucent debunked that lie two years ago.
Certainly, we know that some 8000 kids were on the waiting list at Tavi – not that they were of any use whatsoever. Moreover, just a handful were offered puberty blockers, and unless they are prescribed at Tanner stage two, it is often too late.
Eight thousand sounds like a lot until we ask the question, how many kids are there in England and Wales (E&W)?
The answer is 8 million (aged between 5 and 15).
Nice and easy sum that – in essence, just ONE child in a THOUSAND has a gender identity issue registered with the E&W NHS.
The truth is there is no “epidemic” of trans kids – but then again, lies and corruption are part of being Tory.
Boris Johnson and Partygate – Johnson lied, and the police eventually fined him. Mariam Cates, a “Christian” extremist who is incredibly trans-hostile and has suggested too many women go to university, is under investigation by Parliament Standards Watchdog. Priti Patel stated that 65% of refugees crossing the channel were “economic migrants”. That was proven to be untrue. Kwasi Kwarteng made false statements regarding Brexit. Robert Jenrick told fibs regarding giving planning permission to property developers in his constituency from which he profited. Kemi Badenock, the so-called “Equalities Minister” who is meant to protect minorities, has now made tweets (19/12/23) that are discriminatory to the trans community. Nadhim Zahawi made “exaggerated” expense claims while in his role as Education Secretary. Michael Gove suggested in the 2019 General Election campaign that a Labour Government would result in food shortages – a bit rich coming from a Government that invented food banks, has suggested living on the streets is a ‘life choice’ and crashed the economy in just a few days!
