We know first-hand the immense challenges our community faces, particularly when accessing essential healthcare. Today, we urgently need to address a vital initiative that directly tackles one of the most pressing issues: the lack of affordable, gender-affirming care for trans people. We are proud to support the Anne Health Crowdfunder, a campaign working tirelessly to provide life-saving care for transgender people who cannot afford private services.

With years-long NHS waitlists, GPs are sometimes reluctant to support shared care and even withdraw care after periods of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). For many, the only alternative is paid private care, which, for most, is simply out of reach.
Tragically, this lack of timely and affordable options can force people into self-medicating without proper oversight.
This is where Anne Health steps in. Founded by Lizzie Jordan and Susie Green, their motivation stems from personal experience – supporting their own family members in navigating the systemic failures of NHS systems to access private gender-affirming care.
They established Anne Health as a not-for-profit gender-affirming healthcare service in 2024, driven by the desire to provide the care and attention their loved ones deserved, following international best practices.
Their mission is clear: until better care is available for free on the NHS, they will do their utmost to support as many people as possible, not just those who can afford private healthcare. In fact, they believe that they should not have to exist and look forward to a time when their services are no longer needed.
Anne Health has already established its paid services, and now, they are focusing on Step 2: a funded pathway for those who cannot afford private healthcare. This crowdfunder, which operates as a transparent and accountable fundraising platform, is crucial to achieving this goal.
Every contribution will directly fund Anne Health Standard Membership services, providing comprehensive healthcare overseen by qualified, affirming professionals offering practical support for people who otherwise have nowhere to turn. This will allow individuals to thrive without fear or uncertainty about their health. It’s important to note that while this fund covers vital healthcare services, medication and travel costs are omitted.
The importance of this essential campaign cannot be overstated. Across the UK, trans people have faced and continue to face ever more restrictive legislation and the ongoing removal of critical NHS services.
